AdayKhata (আদায় খাতা) is a free Android app that helps field collection agents count cash by denomination, work out how old a loan is, keep a photograph of their own printed instalment chart, and keep photographs of the customers on their round. This policy explains exactly what the app does with information, in plain language. If anything here is unclear, write to us at the address in section 13.
In this policy, we and us mean the independent developer who publishes AdayKhata, and you means the person using the app.
1. What we collect
Almost nothing. AdayKhata has no account system, no sign-in and no server of its own. The app does its whole job on your device, and nothing you enter or photograph is ever sent to us. We have no way to read it, and no copy of it exists anywhere but your phone.
One thing does leave your phone:
- Advertising identifiers — handled by Google AdMob to show the single banner ad that keeps the app free. See section 4.
2. Data that stays on your phone
The following is written to a private database inside the app’s own storage area on your device, which other apps cannot read:
- Saved cash counts — the count for each denomination, the totals, the date, and any title or area note you add
- Your settings — language, light or dark theme, and which denominations are shown
Loan-age checks are worked out as you use the screen and are not stored. This data is never transmitted anywhere. Uninstalling the app, or clearing its storage from Android Settings, removes it permanently. We cannot recover it for you, because we never had it.
Android’s own backup service may copy your saved counts and settings to your Google account so they return if you replace your phone. That is a feature of Android, controlled by you in your device settings, and the copy is held by Google under its own terms, not by us. Photographs are deliberately excluded from it (see section 3).
When you use a share option, the app hands a plain-text summary to whichever app you pick (for example WhatsApp), or a CSV file you have asked it to export. What happens to it after that is governed by that app’s own privacy policy, not this one.
3. Photos you take or add
The app keeps two separate sets of pictures, both entirely on your device.
- Instalment charts — a photograph of the printed chart you work from, so you can read it without carrying the paper.
- Customer photographs — pictures of the customers on your round, grouped by how long you have kept them so that old ones are easy to find and delete.
How they get there
You either take a photograph from inside the app, which opens your phone’s own camera, or you choose an existing picture through Android’s system photo picker. The app asks for no camera or photo permission: the picker hands over only the one picture you selected, and the app never gains access to the rest of your gallery.
A picture is then copied into the app’s private storage area. A photograph taken inside the app is notsaved to your phone’s gallery.
What happens to them
- They are never uploaded. There is no server, no cloud album and no account. We never receive them and cannot see them.
- They are excluded from Android’s backup, so they are not copied to your Google account and they do not travel to a new phone. They exist on one device only.
- The app has no button that shares or exports a photograph.
- You can delete any picture at any time, or delete a whole age group at once. Uninstalling the app removes all of them permanently.
Your responsibility for other people’s pictures
A photograph of a customer is that person’s personal data, and you are the person who decides to take and keep it. Please photograph someone only where you are entitled to, keep the picture no longer than you need it, and delete it when the reason for holding it has passed — which is what the age groups are there to help you do. We hold none of these pictures and cannot delete them on your behalf.
4. Advertising
The app shows a single banner advertisement, served by Google AdMob. To serve it, Google may process your device’s advertising identifier, coarse location inferred from your IP address, and general device information. Google acts as an independent controller of that data under its own policies:
Where the law requires it (for example in the EEA and the UK), the app shows Google’s consent form before any ad is requested, and respects your choice. On Android you can also reset or delete your advertising ID, or turn off ad personalisation, from Settings → Privacy → Ads on your device.
We do not send your cash counts, your notes or your photographs to any advertiser. They never leave your phone at all.
5. What we never collect
- Borrower names, phone numbers, addresses or account numbers — the app has no field for them and never asks
- Your contacts, microphone, SMS or call logs
- Precise GPS location — the app requests no location permission
- Your photographs — the app stores pictures you choose on your own device, but they are never transmitted to us or to anyone else (see section 3)
- Your bank credentials or payment details — the app processes no payments and has no in-app purchases
The only permission the app requests is internet access, which it needs for the ad banner.
6. Who your data is shared with
We do not sell your data and we do not share it with any third party for their own marketing. Because the app keeps everything on your device, there is very little to share. Two services are involved at all:
- Google AdMob — advertising, as described in section 4
- Google Play — app distribution, update delivery and aggregate, anonymised install statistics
We may also disclose information if we are legally required to do so by a valid order of a court or competent authority. In practice we hold nothing of yours to disclose.
7. Retention and deletion
Everything the app stores is kept on your phone until you remove it. You can delete a saved count, a chart or a customer photograph individually, clear a whole age group of photographs at once, clear the app’s storage from Android Settings, or uninstall the app — any of which removes that data permanently.
We keep no copy, so there is nothing for us to delete and no request you need to send us. If you have also enabled Android’s backup service, a copy of your counts and settings may remain in your Google account until you remove it there; photographs are excluded from that backup.
8. Security
Your data sits in the app’s private storage sandbox on your device, which other apps cannot read. Network traffic for the ad banner uses HTTPS/TLS. No system is perfectly secure, but this app takes the safest position available: there is nothing of yours off the phone to protect. The realistic risk is a lost or unlocked handset, so keep a screen lock on the device you use for work.
9. Where your data is processed
Your counts and photographs are processed only on your own device and are not transferred anywhere. Advertising data handled by Google, as described in section 4, may be processed on Google servers outside your country under Google’s own terms and applicable data protection law.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live — including under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and the GDPR for users in the EEA and the UK — you have the right to know what personal data is held about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to withdraw consent, and to complain to your local data protection authority.
Because we hold no personal data about you, you can exercise the first three yourself and immediately: everything is on your phone, visible in the app, and deletable from it. For anything concerning the advertising identifier, those rights are exercised against Google under its own policy, and you can reset or delete the identifier from your device settings at any time. For anything else, write to the address in section 13 and we will respond within 30 days.
11. Children
AdayKhata is a professional tool intended for adults aged 18 and over. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with data, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
If we change how the app handles data, we will update this page and change the last updated date at the top. Continuing to use the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
